On Saturday, 23rd June 2007, I went to Janet's friend, Wendy Heaney's 40th birthday party (black and white dress code). The reception was held at the Abe Sher Stadium hall in Edgemead/Bothasig. There were about 130 guests with a DJ providing the music (mostly music of the 70's and 80's). The dance floor was lit up with strobe lights and laser beams and they even had a smoke machine. All guests were greeted at the door with a glass of sherry and each person was given a luminous band/halo/necklace to wear. After the speeches, a hot meal of beef mince curry and rice, complemented with sambals, fruit chutney and coconut, was served. I unfortunately left my camera at home, but if I get some photos from Wendy, then will post them here (maybe later in the week).

Wendy's 40th birthday
