Besides the domestic competitions, South Africans were treated to a feast of sport this past weekend. On Friday night the Springboks totally outplayed England to win convincingly by 36 - 0 in one of the Rugby World Cup group matches. In the ICC Twenty20 Cricket World Cup, South Africa beat a game Bangladesh team by 7 wickets on Saturday in a group match and narrowly beat England by 19 runs yesterday in a Super 8 match at Newlands cricket ground. West Ham United (I'm a fan) beat Middlesborough by 3 goals to nil on Saturday and yesterday the Belgian F1 Grand Prix took place with Ferrari taking the first two places(Raikonnen, then Massa), followed by the 2 McLarens of Alonso and Hamilton. So on the whole, it was a very satisfying sporting weekend.
