Motor racing (Killarney - 4th August, 2007)

On Saturday 4th August, Lloyd and I went to Killarney race track for the second meeting in Cape Town of the National Championships. Mark Ilsley joined us later the morning and as usual we bumped into Louis & Mark Marrow. The motorcycle races were particularly interesting with the modification that was done to the track (where we usually stand) as a safety measure to reduce the speed down the main straight, coming out of Cape Town corner. However, there were a couple of nasty accidents in the motorcycle events as a result of the new modification to the track. The closely contested production car and Polo Classic races, provided exciting viewing, not forgetting the adrenalin rush one receives when the Wesbank V8's thunder past.
